The O.A. Norlund Company was originally founded by Olof August Norlund in Pennsylvania, producing sporting goods and logging equipment. In 1959, the brand was acquired by the renowned Mann Edge Tool Company of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Starting in 1968, Mann produced the iconic Norlund line of axes and hatchets, designing them specifically for outdoor enthusiasts, campers, and hunters. Renowned for their high quality, forged steel heads, and distinct finish, vintage Norlund tools from this Lewistown production era (1968–1986) are widely considered collectible classics among axe enthusiasts.
