Step back into Mid-Century American forestry craftsmanship with this premium Vintage True Temper Kelly Works Connecticut Pattern Axe. Featuring a high-performance hollow-ground bit, this full-size felling axe comes mounted on a custom 28" hickory handle equipped with a protective leather shoulder guard for optimal grip, balance, and durability.
The Kelly Axe Heritage: Originally founded in 1874 by W.C. Kelly, the Kelly Axe Manufacturing Company became the undisputed giant of American axe making. In 1930, Kelly was acquired by the American Fork & Hoe Company, which rebranded its flagship edge tool line under the legendary "True Temper / Kelly Works" stamp.
Connecticut Pattern Design: Originating in the timber-dense regions of New England, the Connecticut pattern features a distinctive wide, heavy blade profile with flared corners. This wide face delivers max surface contact per swing, making it a favorite for heavy chopping and precision felling.
Hollow Ground Bit Engineering: Designed with concave bevels behind the cutting edge, the hollow-ground bit reduces friction as the axe penetrates deep into timber, preventing binding and allowing for swift, efficient wood removal.
