History
Founded by Morley P. Walters in 1886 in Hull, Quebec (now Gatineau), the Walters Axe Company operated for nearly a century as one of Canada's leading axe manufacturers. Supplying tools to timber crews, foresters, and homesteaders across North America, Walters became famous for its "Black Diamond" line and high-carbon steel craftsmanship. The factory produced exceptional axes until its closure in the late 1960s, making surviving Walters heads highly collectible pieces of Canadian forestry history.
